About the Trek

The DC Trek started in 2019 and since then has become one of GWWIB’s flagship events in the Spring.

On the full day trek attendees are given the opportunity to explore potential career paths and connect with industry professionals in the DC area while getting to know other GWWIB members.

 

 
 

2024

Trip Information: The theme of the fifth Annual GWWIB DC Trek is Lead the Change, Leave Your Mark. The purpose of this theme is to empower individuals to be the change they would like to see in the workforce by leading them to pursue their passions and leverage their unique skill sets. Through exposure to a variety of different industries, resources, and encouraging self-reflection, we believe each individual can have an impact on their desired career path and leave their mark.

2023

Trip Information: For the fourth annual DC Trek, attendees were encouraged to Position Their Intentions, as they traveled across four sites.

Trip Date: February 24th

Site Visits: Edelman, Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking, Strategic Investment Group, and KPMG


 
 

2022

Trip Information: For the third annual DC Trek attendees had the opportunity to meet with a wide range of companies located around the DMV.

Trip Date: February 25th

Site Visits: EY, The Carlyle Group, RedPeg Marketing, and Industry Dive

2020

Trip Information: Due to COVID-19 the DC Trek and New York Trip will be combined to create, The Virtual Road Trip. Due to the virtual setting, attendees were able to travel across the US to hear from different companies. There was three (virtual) site visits with for each city.

NY Site Visits: TheSkimm, J.P. Morgan, Edelman

DC Site Visits: Little Friends for Peace, International Finance Corporation, OpenSecrets/Center for Responsive Politics

Tri-city Day | Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles Site Visits: Connections for Abused Women and their Children (Chicago), Oracle (Austin), MRC (LA)
