Each year, GWWIB takes 20 to 30 hand-selected members on a two-day informational trip to New York City. While in New York, GWWIB visits four corporate offices of different business sectors, ranging from law firms to real estate companies, financial firms to advertising agencies. The trip provides GWWIB members with the opportunity to use their academic and networking skills in a professional environment to seek out internships and career opportunities. It is oriented towards helping active members apply their knowledge and explore different business sectors and environments. In the past our range of company visits has included: Ogilvy & Mather, The Wall Street Journal, NBC Universal, Bloomberg, TD Securities, Tishman Speyer and more.

This year, our 7th Annual New York Trip will take place in November. Corporate Site Visit Locations will be released at our October GBM.

Two years ago GWWIB hosted our first annual Spring Conference. Attendees took part in a discussion on the major topics learned in the classroom and how these issues are translated into the real world of business. Topics included Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, International Business, and Business-Government Relations.  With panels of business professionals from the Washington, DC area, as well as the former CEO of DuPont and Former First Lady of Peru as our Keynote speakers, the Conference was a wonderful success. By bringing together students, professors, and business experts, participants were able to gain a greater understanding of business issues in today's world.
